It differed from its predecessor with a shorter fuselage, a wing with a greater sweep angle, and new engineering. Late-build Boeing 720B aircraft had more powerful JT3D engines in redesigned nacelles. Additionally, it featured minor changes to its passenger emergency evacuation system.
